Miles M.38 Messenger - KP 1/72nd

What is it with the three vertical tails that catches our fancy? I just will have to build a model of the Lockheed Constellation only for that very reason.

The KP rendition of the Messenger is relatively simple, with some good features, a not particularly good fit, not the sharpest mold in the shed, and in need of a few details to look the part. Still, a welcome kit of a plane that still flies in numbers today, with a nice transparency, and obedient decals. With some patience and additional work it will turn alright indeed for modelers with some experience. The model was completed in relatively short time -actually even in parallel with some other builds, and the final result is appealing and credible, just asking for a grass airstrip to stretch its wings and leisurely take to the air of a calm countryside morning or afternoon.

  1. Very striking in the blue and silver scheme! Your usual well-researched and detailed model- ho hum! I used to have the Pavla kit- I wonder how it would have compared to this one?

    1. ;-) Thanks! The Pavla kit, for what I can see in photos, is a little crude, although the interior is resin.
