Farman F.231 Sebastienne Guyot - Scratchbuild 1/72nd

Here is the Third Amigo.

It held the speed, duration and distance records, as stated on the right hand side of its nose.

"Ric et Rac" -two mischievous dogs that were famous comic characters at the time- are portrayed on the fuselage sides. The plane belonged to Sebastienne Guyot, female pilot of great achievements, who bought it from Pierre Ranon de la Vergne. Guyot was an accomplished sportswoman, and aerodynamicist, and as said and admirable pilot. She fought with the resistance and was captured by the occupation forces who didn't hesitate to torture her. She never quite recovered and died soon after the liberation. She was granted the Hero of the Resistance medal of honor posthumously.

The plane scheme has this note of fun provided by the two dogs, and at the same time is sober and elegant. "Ric et Rac" are also featured in the Caudron Goéland I am building in parallel. This -no doubt- will make two of my friends, David the Tall and Christos of Spanakopita very happy as they -like the Greek philosopher Diogenes- love dogs more than they love humans (and who could blame them).

The decals are from Arctic Decals in Finland.
