An old kit of interesting design and frankly quite well produced for being absolutely home-made and 42 years old. It presented a few challenges of course, but ultimately I think it rendered a decent model. If you have this one, which is at this point quite rare, and you are an experienced modeler, you may like to have a go. I purchased it after acquiring the just-released Bugatti 100 kit by Special Hobby, as a matter of comparison (far from apples to apples, of course, but fun) and kit nostalgia. The SH kit, being of modern technology and by a well-established firm, is of course superior, although some of the engineering solutions are not as comfortable as in this old kit. In any case, this old dog is an exercise in dexterity that will push the modeler's skills (and patience), and it teaches us that sometimes, a couple of things in old kits are better thought than in modern kits, computer-aided design and mainstream production and all.

This plane is a favorite of many, and its unbelievably modern lines (1938!) leave you thinking what the heck were we doing still toying with biplanes and old ideas then.

A tribute to Ettore Bugatti no doubt, but much more to the generally ignored (and unknown to most) designer Louis de Monge. Regarding De Monge designs, stay tuned as I am working on a scratch of an inaccurately-called "flying wing" design of his, the De Monge 7.5.
