With French charm and elegance the De Monge 7.5 "flying
wing" cruises the 20's skies over la campagne. A design formula aimed to
reduced drag, "wet" surface, and take advantage of the lifting body
concept that was very advanced for its time, otherwise ruled by lumbering,
externally-rigged biplanes. Powered by two Bugatti car engines it flew solidly
and safely. An earlier version of it, the 7.4 (reg F-ESEO), had two 3-cylinder Anzani. The marks are from Arctic Decals, your Friendly Finnish.
If you fancy a trip to peruse through conceptually-similar designs like flying wings, lifting bodies, low aspect ratio and just plain oddball planes, use the Blog Archive (side bar to the right of the page) to locate them.
