When is a Mustang wild* horse a wild zebra? When it's a racer piloted by E.D. Weiner that came 2nd in 1967 at Reno.
The happy conjunction of the modified Airfix Mustang kit and a set by Draw Decals resulted in an interesting model, built without any complications, helped by the nice quality of both.

*As clearly stated by many sources, Mustangs are not actually
wild horses, but feral ones, as they descend from tamed Spanish stock brought
to the Americas (immigrant horses, one may say). As we see, many symbols considered
"American", are in fact not, something to reflect upon when you hear
xenophobic rants. There is a reason why American xenophobes don't speak Native
American languages: their ancestors were also... "immigrants". And
some of them -as history unequivocally notes- were extremely violent and
predatory, unlike contemporary ones, looking -also as of course many of them did then- for an
opportunity to make a decent living, or escaping from danger. Immigration, then and now, is a complex subject. What is simple is compassion, solidarity, understanding and kindness.
